I want to talk to you guys about this product that I have been using. Its a Lip Plumping Gloss by a brand called HighTech Cosmetics.
So there are various lip plumpers in the market now-a-days, that have some amount of ‘active ingredients’ that claim to give you ‘fuller lips.’ Some just have menthol-based ingredients in them that naturally tingle the lips (as menthol when applied to the skin ….?) thereby giving you the feeling of a pout.
This lip gloss, by HighTech cosmetics available at Machka Beauty Salon in Jumeriah, is a tad different. So, after about 10-15 minutes of application, HYA Plump nano vectors transport and enhance the release of Hyaluronic acid, which essentially penetrates deep into the lip creases and take up moisture. As the micro spheres swell, they plump up and smooth the lips.
This product claims that once the lips are perfectly hydrated (after about 15 minutes or so, post application) lips are 35% plumper and their natural color is restored.
Bottom line, what you want to know is, does it work? Yes, it does. This is the first product that I have used that actually gives a kind of ‘numbing’ feeling on the lips after application, that lasts about 4 hours, which tells you that it is doing something? And guys, it does give you the appearance of fuller lips. The tingling / numbing sensation is caused by the Hyaluronic acid, which I am assuming is a little more in this product than other mass produced lip glosses that claim fuller lips. Also, I believe this product is sold only in salons and pharmacies so far.
I would have taken a before and after shot, but the difference is not THAT obvious for you to see, unless you wear it for yourself. I would say about a 15%, not 35% as the product claims, increase in fullness of the lips.
Tip: Apply onto the edges of your lips after outlining your lips with a lip pencil for best results, as this will plump up the liner as well.
HighTech range of cosmetics is available at Machka Salon in Jumeirah in various colors as well.
