The contemporary setting of the Andrew Martin Gallery at DIFC hosted the SS 2014 Moschino fashion preview last week. A we entered the venue, we walked through a digital tunnel which showcased the said brand’s Spring/ Summer 2014 collection. Cartoon characters hung from the ceiling, funky furniture and old-school arcade games all added to this stylish set up. Activities like a vintage animated flipbook photo activity, live entertainment by soul, R&B and jazz singer Kerrie Ann and DJ Karim Barkouki had the crowd dancing into the night.
As a luxury fashion brand revered for their colourful designs, the must-have pieces from the Moschino’s women’s collection included an iridescent bouclé jacket with large metallic zippers and chain bracelets on the cuffs. There was pearl embroidery on lightweight, see-through dresses, refining the most delicate looks with patterns of coloured roses printed / embroidered on fabrics in white, black and red.
The Moschino Uomo collection featured graphic motifs which represented Shanghai and its gigantic multicoloured neon strips of logos and videos which shine from the skyscraper – a reinterpretation of classic Moschino Sky print, with the all-over prints recurring on the various garments of the collection, from jacket to trousers.
Eveningwear was formal and elegantly structured, with dinner jackets featuring shawl collars or classic lapels embellished with jacquard, interwoven with red, black and gold threads.
Moschino is located at The Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates.
