Created by Angèle Lancel in the nineteen thirties, the Bucket Bag (officially known as ‘Elsa’) went on to become one of the icons of the maison. On the 10th of February 1987, the Lancel maison launched Elsa. Elsa’s silver jubilee was celebrated at the Lancel store at The Dubai Mall a few weeks ago and we were also given the opportunity to meet with Leonello Borghi, Artistic Design & Image, Lancel, Paris.
On this occasion, the Lancel maison re-launched this iconic model. In addition, we also had Leonello give us a guided tour of the F/W 2012-13 pieces. The ones that caught our attention are captured for you on the video with Leonello telling us about their creation process.
We have taken some pictures of a book that was provided to us on the Press Day and shared it with you. The book takes us through 133 years of the brand’s history since its inception. It’s interesting to note that this maroquinier (pronounced maho-ki-niere in French) has constantly re-invented itself in the last 133 years by observing each era’s trends. Alas, it still maintains to capture the au courant lady of today.
Watch Leonello Borghi take us through some of the maison’s pieces:
