Mrs. Louise Nichol Editor of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia and Ms. Elaine Greensheilds, Editor of Grazia ME Insider addressed the audience of Topshop’s Fashion Insider event held at The Dubai Mall.

What DIAF imbibed from the LFW 2012 Fashion Inisider Talks at Topshop:

— That prints are going to be aplenty this S/S 2012 (they just keep getting stronger) – floral, digitally-produced, abstract, geometric, floral mixed with digital mixed with abstract. Anything goes. As long as they don’t break the rules of basic aesthetics, that is. Please don’t go out looking like you wanted to represent all the prints that you ever saw in pictures. Create a balance between them, I suppose, is what the fashion gurus are trying to tell us.

— That colors are beautiful and were created to wear. Brights, brights, Brights! Go bright this summer – bright hues pinks, orange, yellow, greens, reds…..go crazy. Here you may go all out.

— That apart from brights, pastels are also a palette that are very much in fashion. Soft peachy colors, subtle lavenders, baby pinks, you get the drift?

Make-up and Hair

Hair – a bit wild, a bit undone big, loose – think Marie Antoinette. Hair pulled back into a ponytail will never go out of fashion.

Make-up is subtle and elegant; but the focus on maintaining a healthy skin never goes out if style. Colors for the rest of the year are browns, berries, reds. Makes sense — if your hair is pushed back, you can bring out the make-up.

Now, over to the phenomenon that has taken the city by storm. Violent Lips! DIAF talks to Clare Geeves, blogger, TV Presenter, Social Media expert, the list goes on. And Kate Boyle of Cosmetology:

How to apply Violent Lips (Application video):
