Hello again World! I am back with my second post after an extended hiatus. I am seriously aiming at filling in these gaps.
Note to self: Such lapses are also not acceptable when you cover events and people are looking forward to watching their videos! 🙂
Moving on, this v-post is about the Dubai Fashion Week Fall / Winter 2011 that I had the opportunity to attend. Various views expressed on the said fashion week by various journalists, bloggers et al. Good, bad, ugly. However, as Kay Li — one of the Emerging Talent winners also agrees — is that, for aspiring fashion designers who want to be on the radar of the region’s sought after fashion marshals, there is no better platform than the Dubai Fashion Week. Debatable? Sure, but what isn’t?
I had the chance to meet with one of the six ET Winners of the DFW Fall / Winter 2011 that just went – Sara Alrefai. She tells me about what makes her tread down this unyielding lane (the fashion industry) within which, resilience is a quality you cannot do without, where so many aspiring designers spring up by the dozen, daily, yet they pitch themselves with panache. Here, Sara Alrefai talks about her future aspirations and what fashion means to her.
P.S. Please remember to grab a copy of the next issue of RED HOT magazine (Gulf News) to read a feature on the lovely ladies. (June 2011 issue)
